ethics and other such drivel

where is it written that because you want to look good, or feel good about yourself, that its okay to be an ungrateful unethical little jerk from hell to accomplish it.

For example, a certain author, who bills himself in every corner of the web as an "expert author" has many of his articles ghost written..
Now thats not bad in and of itself, and a great many people do it, yet to take them, purportedly as your own and use someone elses work to then elevate yourself to the level of an expert author based upon things you haven't written, is probably low rent ethics on some level.
Example #2. last week I did a web site. I wasn't paid to do it, but I tend to think that we really should do a few things that we aren't compensated for because its the right thing to do.. Money isn't the be all and end all of our existence unless we aren't very nice people.
Living means helping a few other people you share the worlds space with.
HOWEVER.. the individual in question complained rather incessantly about the font, about the graphics and about the content until it took me a whole week to finish it rather than a couple days.
Now I don't mind spending that time span but I do think, and call me nuts if you like. that after dumping a thousand dollars worth of work into something you give away, you should at least hear the words thank you.
a short sentence and it takes very little time to accomplish the task. As if that wasn't enough to tick off an impatient person, she then reportedly claimed that she'd done the site herself in ""just a couple days".
If you can't stretch yourself far enough to say thank you and mean it, and not claim someone elses work as your own unless its work for hire, then probably the next time you ask me, "do you have a few minutes to help me with my site" I will be out of time for this particular millenium.
and you..well given your level of understanding .. probably won't understand what I'm irritated about..
